Frequently asked questions

ABOUT PLANNING A COMMUNITY TRIP TO ISRAEL

What is Legacy Israel?

The Legacy Israel Trip is designed for adults seeking an immersive experience similar to what Birthright participants enjoy on their Israel journey. This unique program provides an in-depth exploration of Israel through touring, reflection and engaging recreational activities. It offers a chance to experience the same awe-inspiring sights and experiences allowing you to connect deeply with the land, its people and its culture.

What does the trip include?

The trip package encompasses a range of high-quality amenities to ensure a comfortable and enriching experience. It includes 4-star hotel accommodations with daily sumptuous breakfasts, a luxury air-conditioned coach for 7 days (excluding Shabbat), and an experienced tour educator for 8 days. The package also covers dinners or lunches daily, entrance fees to all sites and attractions on the itinerary, and full support from the Israel Maven team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Is this a religious trip?

The Legacy Israel Trip is inclusive of all backgrounds and religious affiliations. It provides opportunities to celebrate Jewish traditions and explore Jewish culture, and is open to everyone. The trip features kosher food at all tour-sponsored activities, and no travel will take place on Shabbat, allowing for a respectful and enjoyable experience for all participants.

When does the Legacy Israel trip take place, and how frequently are they scheduled?

The trips are scheduled to take place annually in May and September. These periods offer favorable weather conditions and provide a great opportunity for travelers to explore Israel’s diverse landscapes and cultural landmarks. The trips are offered yearly to ensure that you can choose a time that best fits your schedule.

What is the activity level of the Legacy Israel trip?

The Legacy Israel trip is designed with seniors in mind, offering a moderate pace that balances guided tours with ample rest periods. While some walking is involved, we ensure that activities are suitable for varying mobility levels.

Will there be free time to explore and shop independently?

While the itinerary includes some light shopping opportunities during the day, and free time on Thursday night and Shabbat morning (when most shops are closed), if you would like extended time to shop, tour on your  own, or visit family and friends we suggest that you extend your stay in Israel for a few days at your own leisure. This allows for a more relaxed experience without missing out on any of the group programming.

When is the best time to arrive in Israel for the start of the trip?

The trip begins at 8:30 AM on Monday morning, with our meeting point in Tel Aviv. To ensure you're well-rested and ready for the journey ahead, we strongly recommend arriving in Israel on Sunday. This gives you time to settle in, adjust to the time zone, and relax before the itinerary officially begins.

If you'd like, we’re happy to assist with booking accommodation for Sunday night prior to the start of the trip.
